The current understanding of multi-scale processes of ecological and ontological crisis enables to better appreciate the conflictual relations between nature and culture.

However, as the study of the cultural landscape clarifies, a sensitive approach is lacking to the experts who are too easily indulged in the scientific analysis of phenomena first perceived by our contemporaries. To the sustainable triumvirate of Economy/Environment/Society, the culture factor has been added for some years. For Instance, the Harvard Sensory Ethnography laboratory has developed a more inclusive approach to human phenomena which cannot be intersected with ordinary scientific studies and academic productions. The environmental humanities such as sociology, anthropology, politics and aesthetics refer to a temporal complex ecology the field of sensory landscape can decrypt.

This program addresses the innovative Sensory Landscape approaches and what this peculiar deciphering of the reality provides the experts with. Even if the tangible landscape can be approached today relatively concretely and be solved with complex and yet relatively well-assimilated proposals by the whole community, the intangible landscape, its feeling and resentment are far more difficult to grasp and enhance.

In so doing, we have recourse to a reading and deciphering of the cultural and conflictual phenomena in which this environmental construction of our reality is nested. By reading sensitive expressions and experimenting their creation, experts will take a lead on engineering methods that will later allow them to solve the human / non-human disturbances.
