Date: 3 events_ 7, 14 & 30th September  2017

Lectures are part of DoLuck04 Program
Doluck 04 will focus on how creators and artistic producers respond to contemporary tension and conflict.
This Symposium & Workshop proposal is mainly resulting from the recent events that have shaken the civil society and democratic institutions in South Korea in the fall of 2016.
It also stems from an approach undertaken in the research context on urban, environmental and societal issues that lead us to study and examine the manifestations settings from contemporary tension and conflict.
This event is a part of research and events previously organized: Model Transfer of Social Ecology in Asian Territory & Model Transfer of Urban Ecology in Seoul / Seoul Walks.
What leads us to propose the 3rd series of events in the context of a contemporary art gallery such as Boan 1942, is to understand the aesthetics of resistance at the heart of democratic ecologies particularly active in South Korea in 2017, but also to refer how creators such as environment/landscape/urban designer, architect, researcher & artist produce in terms of ache revelation and societal stimulation that entail the individual empowerment at the heart of our societies in transition.

Day 1_ Resistance’ Aesthetics
Day 2_ Resistance’ Atlas
Blaz Kriznik : Mapping Local Resistance in Global Cities
Recent mass protests taking place each Saturday in the heart of Seoul and other cities in South Korea have revived and increased political awareness among the citizens.
At the same, another kind of civil movements have shaped South Korean cities as well as other cities around the world for more than a decade.
They are much smaller in number, more humble in their aims and focused on the politics of everyday life in the localities, where they are originate from. Nonetheless, sometimes it seems that without them there would be no mass protests.
This lecture will explore the relationship between local resistance and mass protests. It will focus on local resistance in cities, their histories, practices as well as their aesthetics.

Day 3_ Resistance’ Network

Alban Mannisi : Rehab Scape_Eco-Anarchism, Southwestern Noir & Humanitarian Design
The recent phenomena of insurrection and citizen seizure of power tend to demonstrate a reorganization of the mechanisms ordinarily erected as the maintenance of societal equilibria.
Demonstrating a return of social, spatial and environmental injustice, of the monstrous inequalities between power of wealth and popular obedience producing new forms of “real democracy”. In fact, a resurgence to radical resistance movements inspired thoughts of the anarchism of Proudhon, Kropotkin and Bookchin reappear.
Through the resources of radical eco-anarchism, the pivot point in the post-modern aesthetics in which contemporary territorial aesthetics is taking shape, we will tackle today’s humanitarian management projects that try to produce accurate justice.
Rehab Scape depict several movements among Environmental Ethics, Resistance Aesthetics & Responsible Practice

Young Bum Reigh : Social Justice and Urban commons – focused on the case of Neuljang
The issue of urban commons based on the transfer of ownership of public land to civil society lies in the center of recent debate on the right to the city.
Case of Neuljang declared as a free land by the civil society shows the social justice embedded into urban commons upon the supposed loss of urban commonalities reflecting the seemingly profound impacts of the recent wave of privatizations, enclosures, and urban policing.
